I was studying how distributed computers deal with different time measurements since there is always some lag in the counting of individual clocks. The best and most accurate counting we have is by atomic clocks, which use cesium electron spins to mark the passage of time. Knowing that time (from a physics perspective) is actually something relative and (from a social perspective) is a tool created by humans and that, in fact, entropy regulates everything, I wonder if there isn’t a better way to mark the passage of time than just counting. Physicists have certainly discussed this, it’s worth researching.
