Description

This is supposed to be a project to hone my visual storytelling skills, music skills and cinematography skills. The idea is to write poems and shoot videos that encompass what is being said, metaphorically, while also having a soundtrack created by me. I was originally thinking in doing very short videos, less than 4 minutes. Themes are open for definition.

Free Fall

[Done] The first one I did, without much planning, I just filmed some test scenes with the drone while walking on the slackline. I’m satisfied with the result, I edited it directly on my phone, but this part turned out to be the most time-consuming. These impromptu videos are honestly the most fun. The poem/text was also written on the spot, as I did with Sand Ship Wreck. This is a way of doing things that is challenging. The only part that bothers me a little is the publishing format. I don’t know if Instagram stories are the best option, it’s kind of complicated to say, I’m not sure exactly what bothers me, I think it would have been better to have posted it directly on my profile. The one-minute limit is a double-edged sword. Reels are better, but I also don’t want very long content, I think at most 2min30. For the next one I’ll use it and compare. Besides that, I need to think about where I’m going to store these videos, for now I’ll just back them up on my laptop, even though I’m editing on my phone.
