How Harry Potter: The Complete Collection (1-7)* Changed Me

The most normie book series I could’ve picked as a kid, but hey—at least it got me into a reading habit. It also turned me into an unapologetic Potterhead and somehow made me a literary influencer in elementary school (translation: I got my friends to read, too).

Here’s the twist: *I never actually finished the series. Stopped at Half-Blood Prince because someone thought it’d be funny to give me The Lightning Thief instead of Deathly Hallows. That bait-and-switch derailed my entire Hogwarts journey, and by the time I considered going back, the movies had already spoiled everything >:( .

Still, these books did wonders for my reading habits and gave me a crippling case of main character syndrome. Thanks, J.K.
